The Government is mulling to regularise the services of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) teachers on ReT pattern and has directed the directors of education in both Kashmir and Jammu to finalise the details in this regard.

Pertinently, a few days ago, KGBY teachers had protested outside the residence of CM Mufti Mohammad Sayyed after which PDP president Mehbooba Mufti intervened and asked state Education Miniter, Naeem Akhtar, to look into the matter of aggrieved persons before 17 of this month.

As per the official order number Edu/NC-SE/251-A/2009 dated 10-08-2015 issued by H.H. Dutt, Joint Director (Planning), School Education Department says the issue regarding the regularisation of KGBV teachers engaged on ReT pattern in KGBV schools has been under examination since 2014 in view of the change in financial norms of KGBV notified by Ministry of HRD, GoI, vide No: 2-16/2013 EE3, dated: 24.03.2014.

“Taking note that these engagements have been made on the basis of zonal merit and the department has barred them from applying for any ReT post under SSA, proposal of their regularisation against SSA posts in their village or vicinity, within the zone where they have qualified or zonal merit, or in the request of the candidate in the zone where she is married, is under consideration,” the order said.

Dutt in the order has directed the Director, School education in both Kashmir and Jammu to finalise the details regarding the zone where the KGBV teachers engaged on ReT pattern is to be regularised. Is has further been directed to temporarily freeze any appointment as ReT in the zone where as KGBV teacher is to be regularised. The directors of school education have also been directed to furnish the list of vacant posts along with appointment details in the zone. (With inputs from KNS)
