Following the arrest of Prof S A R Geelani and JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar in New Delhi post Afzal Guru event, severe clashes broke out between protestors and forces in Nowhatta area of Old Srinagar after Friday congregational prayers today.

The protestors were waving flags expressing solidarity with JNU students, report said.
