Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Friday paid rich tributes to Haigam “martyrs” and also condoled demise of Zikra Begum (wife of late JKLF founding member Muhammad Maqbool Bhat)

JKLF chairperson Mohammad Yasin Malik termed her death as ‘national’ loss.

Paying rich tributes to “martyrs” including Dr Ashaie, Malik said, “Dr Ashaie was a great soul who throughout his life stood for the cause of freedom and justice. He remained steadfast while fighting for the human rights of Kashmiris and as a doctor always cared for his patients. The brutal way in which doctor sahib was martyred by Indian forces still remains a glaring proof of Indian oppression in JK.”

“Kashmiri struggle for freedom is adorned with the sacred blood of martyrs like Dr Asahi and hence no earthly power can defeat this struggle,” Malik said.

Mentioning slain Jalil Ahmad Shah and other Haigam and Gorsier Jageer “martyrs”, including Abdul Gani Wani aka Sher Khan and MuhammadYasin Najar, Malik said, “nation of Kashmir is indebted of these martyrs who laid down their lives for the betterment of our nation.”

Malik is still in police custody and remains admitted in Florence hospital here.
