Independent lawmaker from Khan Sahib Constituency Hakim Mohammad Yasin Wednesday asked Chief Minster Mehbooba Mufti to resign on moral grounds. He said that the PDP’s claims about Agenda of Alliance have been exposed by BJP in assembly.

He asked Mehbooba that she had several times claimed that her party’s “Agenda of Alliance” with the BJP was full of possibilities to get Kashmir out of turmoil with honour and dignity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the day she will feel she has failed in this purpose, she will not take even a second to leave politics.

“Now there can’t be a bigger proof to her than this. What is Mehboobaji waiting for then?”

The MLA Khanshahib said that adjournment of Assembly sine-die six days ahead of the schedule is a proof that the two alliance partners are at logger heads with each other. “The Chief Minister should resign on moral grounds as there is a constitutional crisis in the state,” he demanded.

According to the already notified calendar, the Assembly was to run until February 7.

The PDF chief said the Chief Minister couldn’t come to the Assembly to clarify her government’s stand on Article 370 and instead the Speaker adjourned the Assembly sine-die prematurely.

“People of Jammu and Kashmir should now understand how PDP has made a sell-out for power on key issues that concern their political rights and honour. While BJP’s opposition to J&K’s special status and Article 370 is as old as the existence of the right wing party, such demands now have serious implications as PDP has brought BJP into the power matrix in J&K,” he said.

“PDP used to claim that ‘Agenda of Alliance’ is a sacred document and BJP has accepted in the document that it won’t abrogate Article 370. But today both PDP and BJP have been totally exposed in the Assembly that they have inherent contradictions,” Hakim Yasin said in a press statement issued in Jammu.

“It is unfortunate that Hon’ble Speaker had to expunge the words from the speech of Chief Minister. The happenings in the last two days have made it clear that the remarks made by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti regarding Article 370 are her personal views and not the government’s stand,” he said.

Yasin said that their apprehensions on Article 370 have been proved right today. “The apprehensions we had highlighted in our speeches during last two years have been proved right today. But we will defend Article 370 till out last breathe and won’t allow anybody to fiddle with the special status of J&K. Rather we will strive for the restoration of Article 370 to its original, pristine form and would continue to stand by this demand,” he asserted.
