SRINAGAR: The Central Government has ordered a major reshuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre, transferring several officers across States and Union Territories, including key postings involving Jammu and Kashmir.
The transfers and postings were approved by the Competent Authority and notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs through an order issued in New Delhi on July 9, 2026. The changes take immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.
Among the IAS officers, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary (2009 batch) has been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh, while Saugat Biswas (2006 batch) has been posted from Arunachal Pradesh to Jammu and Kashmir.
The Centre has also posted Mamta Yadav (2021 batch) from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir, and Ishita Rathi (2022 batch) from Puducherry to Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, Swati Sheemar (2023 batch) has been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi.
In the IPS cadre, Tanushree (2017 batch) has been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi. Rajesh Kumar Sharma (2014 batch) has been moved from Jammu and Kashmir to Chandigarh, while Deepika (2018 batch) has been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Puducherry. Gaurav Sikarwar (2019 batch) has been shifted from Jammu and Kashmir to Goa.
Several IPS officers have also been posted to Jammu and Kashmir. These include Vishnu Kumar (2019 batch) from Delhi, Arshi Aadil (2019 batch) from Goa, Tikam Singh Verma (2020 batch) from Goa, K. M. Priyanka (2021 batch) from Chandigarh, Rajeev Kumar Ambasta from Delhi, Deepak Yadav from Delhi, Anand Kumar Mishra from Delhi, and Satish Kumar from Delhi.
The reshuffle also covers numerous IAS and IPS officers posted across Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Mizoram, Ladakh, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (DNH and DD), and Chandigarh.
Among other notable IAS transfers, Vivek Pandey (2003), Garima Gupta (2004), Pawan Kumar Sain (2005) and Amjad Tak (2005) have been transferred to Delhi, while Sanjay Goel (2004) has been posted from Goa to Arunachal Pradesh. Other officers have been reassigned to Ladakh, Puducherry, Lakshadweep and DNH and DD as part of the administrative exercise.
The IPS reshuffle includes transfers of senior officers between Delhi, Goa, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Chandigarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Puducherry and other AGMUT segments, aimed at strengthening administrative and policing arrangements across the cadre.
