In a statement, Lone said the latest blaze in Golipora had left a family devastated and was the third such incident reported in the area in recent times.

He noted that two houses had earlier been gutted in Krumhora, while another family has now suffered due to a similar incident in Golipora, highlighting what he described as the recurring nature of fire tragedies in the Rajwar area.

Calling for immediate intervention, Lone appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to prioritise the establishment of a dedicated Fire and Emergency Services station in Rajwar, saying timely emergency response could help minimise damage and save lives.

The Handwara MLA also highlighted the need for a similar facility in Trathpora, stating that the area too lacks adequate fire emergency infrastructure. He urged the authorities to consider both Rajwar and Trathpora while addressing gaps in emergency services.

Lone said strengthening fire response infrastructure in these areas was essential to safeguard residents from recurring fire incidents and reduce the risk of future losses.
