Authorities have detained separatist leaders ahead of the protest program which was jointly issued by both factions of Hurriyat Conference and JKLF.

Reports and sources said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained in his Nigeen residence Friday morning while his media advisor, Shahid Ul Islam and Javaid Mir were detained late Thursday evening.

Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani continues to be under house arrest while his deputy, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, was put under house detention this morning.

Ayaz Akbar, Raja Meraj Ud Din Kalwal too have been detained.

JKLF chief is detained in central jail.

The separatists have called for protests after Friday prayers against “anti-Kashmir RSS agenda”.
