SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, on Tuesday inspected the ongoing construction works at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Awantipora and directed the executing agency to intensify efforts for timely completion of the project.
Describing AIIMS Awantipora as a flagship healthcare project with the potential to transform medical infrastructure in the region, the Minister expressed concern over delays in execution and urged round-the-clock work to meet the stipulated timelines. She called the project a vital step towards providing advanced healthcare services within Kashmir.
“This is not just a building, it is a beacon of hope for advanced healthcare in Kashmir and beyond. Any delay is a delay in delivering essential services to our people,” she said.
The Minister reviewed the pace and quality of ongoing construction and interacted with engineers and officers at the site. She instructed the executing agency to resolve existing bottlenecks, maintain safety and quality standards, and submit regular progress reports.
MLA Pampore, Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi, MLA Rajpora, Ghulam Mohi Uddin Mir, Directors of Health, Ayush and Family Welfare, officers of the executing agency, senior district administration officials, and other concerned officers accompanied the Minister during the visit.
