SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar on Friday said that one more militant involved in the recent Zewan police bus attack was killed in Pantha Chowk encounter.

“Among the three militants killed in Pantha Chowk encounter, one was involved in Zewan Police bus attack,” IGP said.

He identified the slain as Suhail Ahmad Rather of Zaffron colony. He added that Suhail was affiliated with JeM.

“All militants involved in Zewan attack have been killed,” the IGP said in a tweet.

 

Two militants involved in the Zewan attack were killed in an encounter in Anantnag on Thursday.

“In the exchange of fire, three police personnel and a CRPF personnel were also injured,” he said, adding that they were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

According to IGP Kumar, nine militants have been killed in last 36 hours and a total of 171 militants were killed this year in 87 encounters.
