All-Party Meet in New Delhi Ahead of Parliament Budget Session

   

SRINAGAR: An all-party meeting is being held in New Delhi on Tuesday to deliberate on measures for the smooth conduct of proceedings in both Houses during the upcoming Budget session of Parliament.

The customary meeting is being chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also in attendance. Several opposition leaders, including Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, are participating in the discussions.

The first phase of the Budget session is scheduled to begin on Wednesday with President Droupadi Murmu’s address to a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The Union Budget will be presented on February 1, which falls on a Sunday.

The initial phase of the session will continue until February 13, during which the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address will be discussed and adopted. Deliberations on the Union Budget will also take place during this period.

Following a recess, Parliament will reconvene on March 9, and the Budget session is set to conclude on April 2.
