SRINAGAR: In the cloudburst near the cave shrine of Amarnath, at least five pilgrims are reported to have died. The massive water discharge has washed away three community kitchens.

Officials’ sources told Kashmir Life that five persons are dead, which includes three females and two males. The identity of the dead is yet not known.

The massive discharge from the lower side of the shrine moved ferociously through tented spaces downstream and washed away a number of tents.

Though the authorities have indicted various security agencies and disasters management personnel after halting the yatra, the exact details are yet not known.

More than 100 thousands pilgrims have had darshan at the cave shrine and today more than six thousand are on way to the cave.
