SRINAGAR: Authorities on Wednesday suspended the movement of fresh Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026) convoys from Jammu to Baltal as a precautionary security measure following a call issued by some political organisations, officials said.
The suspension was also extended to return convoys carrying pilgrims from Baltal to Jammu for the day.
Pilgrims already staying at the Baltal base camp, however, were allowed to proceed towards the Holy Cave for darshan according to the scheduled movement plan.
Officials said the halt in convoy movement was a temporary preventive measure and that the pilgrimage was continuing in a regulated manner under enhanced security arrangements.
The overall situation remained peaceful, officials said, adding that security measures continued along the Yatra route.
