SRINAGAR: Three Army men and a local woman have been killed in the wee hours of Thursday night after militants opened fired at a patrolling party of 44-RR at Mulu Chitragam area of Shopian district in southern part of Kashmir.
“In the attack seven Army men sustained bullet injuries. Injured soldiers were admitted in a hospital, where three of them succumbed to injuries. A woman has also been killed in the retaliatory firing,” sources said.


Sources said that the militants managed to escape after carrying out the attack. However, an extra contingent of forces rushed to the area to combat the insurgents hiding in the area. In the exchange of fire, a woman Jana Begum also sustain bullet injuries. Medical sources said that Jana had died before they could give her medical aid.
