SRINAGAR
A day after its men killed a civilian in the forests of south Kashmir’s Tral, army termed the slain as Hizb’s Over Ground Worker (OGW).
“As a result of the ongoing search operations,” the army spokesman said, “one more dead body was recovered from the area where operations had been conducted on Monday in Kamla Forest area.”
Body has been identified to be that of Younis Ahmad Ganie of Kausarbal Payeen, Tral.
“Ganie,” said army spokesman, “was a local terrorist who was involved in killing of Rafiq Dada, a surrendered terrorist on 06 April 2015.”
Meanwhile, army spokesman said, “Khalid Wani has been operating as Over Ground Worker, who had taken the three youth — later arrested by Police — to meet Burhan for their recruitment into terrorist tanzeem.”
The incident, the spokesman said, “has thus prevented the three youth from being misguided by late Khalid Wani into joining the militant ranks.”
However, the father of slain civilian rejected the army version saying, “My son had nothing to do with militancy. He was innocent and running a medical Lab.”
