Animal Husbandry workers demand regularisation under SRO 520

Employees of the Animal Husbandry para-vets and Para-vets AI workers working under centrally sponsored scheme NPCBB (National Project on Cattle and Buffalo Breeding) from several districts of Kashmir on Saturday held a protest demonstration in press colony, Srinagar.

Scores of the employees assembled outside press colony demanding regularization under SRO 520.

“Despite working without wages since 2009, there was no initiative taken by the government to regularise us,” said a protestor Mohammad Rafi.

The employees were engaged to provide Artificial Inseminations services at the doorstep of the animal owners “but it’s so unfortunate that even after working without wages we were never regularized,” said another protestor.

The employees have been trained in private Artificial Insemination classrooms with practical sessions “we have even received Artificial Insemination Kits to work.

The employees were engaged In order to intensify the Cattle and Buffalo Development in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
