SRINAGAR: Apni Party on Wednesday held a Shikara rally at Dal Lake in Srinagar to convey that Kashmir is safe for visitors and ready to welcome tourists from across the country.
Party president Altaf Bukhari, while addressing reporters after flagging off the rally, said the event was aimed at assuring people that Kashmir is as safe as any other region. “This rally has been organised to send a message to the people of the country that Kashmir is waiting for you and is safe,” he said.
He said the rally also aimed to express support for stakeholders in the tourism sector, including houseboat and shikarawalas, hoteliers, and transport operators.
The Apni Party chief also appealed to the government to help the tourism stakeholders.
