In view of inclement weather and incessant rains, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Ravinder Kumar Bhat has appealed people not to venture out near rivers, streams and nullahs in connection with grazing of cattle/ sheep or any other purpose.

The people living near mountains and hills have also been asked to remain alert and avoid unnecessary errands to hill tops and steep places.

Chairing a joint meeting of civil, police and army officers here,  the Deputy Commissioner stressed the urgency of keeping top vigil over the water bodies especially at vulnerable spots even as he directed the Executive Engineers of Irrigation and Flood Control to ensure timely plugging of the embankment breaches to avoid inundation  of low lying areas.

The Tehsildars and Naib-Tehsildars have been asked to remain headquartered and attend to the public calls for extending timely help to the people during the adverse weather conditions.
