The army on Saturday claimed to have busted a hideout in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“Based on a specific input from a unit source a search operation of Army and SOG Baramulla was launched today in forested area of Guriwan Village near Zandfaran, south of Gantamulla town approx 10 KM from Baramulla, which resulted in recovery of a huge cache of arms, ammunition and war like stores,” a defence statement said.

The statement said that acting on a specific input of a hideout with large quantity of ‘war like’ stores, Rashtriya Rifles unit based at Baramulla immediately launched a search operation at 0400 AM today.

“The search parties of the Rashtriya Rifles unit carried out concerted search of the area. At around 0630 AM a hideout was unveiled resulting in recovery of 1 AK 47 rifle, 460 rounds of AK 47, 1 Chinese Pistol, 2 Magazines of Chinese Pistol, 28 rounds of Chinese pistol, 8 RPGs, 3 UBGL, 20 UBGL rounds, 8 RPG Boosters, 2 Radio sets and 1 GPS,” the statement further said.
