SRINAGAR

Senior Tehreek Hurriyat leader Muhammad Ashraf Laya was re-arrested on Saturday after a local court bailed out him in a case.

“He was produced in a local court here and granted bail,” family sources told local news gatherer KNS. “However, police re-arrested him in another fake case and lodged in Srinagar central Jail.”

“Laya was brought to SMHS hospital by the authorities. He had to undergone various medical tests whose reports are awaited. The court has already directed authorities to not shift Laya out of state due to his health conditions,” they added.

Meanwhile, senior leaders of Tehreek Hurriyat Ameer Hamza, Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Shabir Mujahid and Manzoor Ahmad have been lodged in Srinagar Central Jail under Public Safety Act.

Advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Muhammad Yasin Bhat, Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, Bashir Kashmiri, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Shahdab Ahmad Gadyari and other six minor students have also been arrested and lodged in central jail Srinagar.
