Making scathing attacks on Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti over her speech in the Police Academy Udhampur, Hurriyat(m) says she has lost the plot.
Through her utterances, the statement issued here said, she repeatedly “betrays her ignorance disconnect and arrogance with regard to the subjugated people of Kashmir whom she is supposedly ruling”.
“She has completely lost the plot, having unleashed a reign of terror upon the people she claimed to represent, her moral turpitude and willingness to be used as a tool in the hands of RSS whose writ runs in the state, is too obvious to be even stated now,” the statement said. “What does amuse and bewilder is when she calls herself a “human rights activist” “upholding the rights of people”, or when she parrots the BJP script of ‘which leader or his children got killed or injured ‘sounding like she wished it to happen and is regretting that it hasn’t happened so far, or when she sermonizes resistance leaders about the meaning of sacrifice.”
“In past three and a half months of her rule had resulted in the brutal killing around 100 innocent Kashmiris, injuring of over 15,000 people with pellets and bullets, arresting more than 10,000 youth, hundreds of who had been slapped with infamous PSA, and committing unprecedented and gruesome human rights violations of all sorts besides converting the entire Kashmir valley into a massive prison,” the statement further said.
Mirwaiz apart, the statement said, “entire Hurriyat leadership is seriously concerned and anguished” over the “disturbing incidents” of torching of schools. “We ask people to be vigilant against the mischief makers indulging in these incidents. In fact people in each area should come forward and volunteer to keep vigil to ensure the safety of educational institutions in their respective areas,” the statement added.
Condemning the “brutal action” of the government forces against the people particularly in Bandipora and Srinagar, the statement highlighted restrictions preventing prayers in historic Jamia Masjid. “If Government of India and its local collaborators want to give some relief to the people of Kashmir about which they show a lot of concern then it should put an end to the ongoing bloodshed, human rights violations, arrests spree and release all political prisoners besides taking concrete and serious steps toward the resolution of Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of the people,” the statement added.
Presiding over a pass out ceremony in the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy, Chief Minister on Friday said that some “tall leaders in Kashmir think if schools will open, the poor children might not get time for stone-pelting or may lose interest in stone-pelting.”
