Participating in the discussion on the Budget for 2017-18, senior legislator and CPI (m) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Monday termed the budget as “disappointment” for the unemployment youth.

“There is unemployment in every village and town,” Trigrami said, “While educated youth are begging before the government, finance minister has not even touched the issue.”

“If we will look in the well established economies of world it is stated that jobless economy is meaningless and same is applicable to our state,” he said.

He accused finance minister of deceiving youth of the state, “by making fake promises to them” in the previous budgets.

“As government has stated that committee will be constituted to look for the regularization of daily wagers and casual labors,” he said, “This looks impossible.”

He accused officers of ordering unnecessary transfers saying, “When will chief Secretary, who is chairman of the committee, get time from transfer industry to look into the issue of 61 thousand people who are to be regularized.”

He also said that, finance minister is making predictions that are far from reality.

“Budget is for one year and when finance minister says that 7th pay commission will be implemented next year that means he is making predictions, that have never happened before,” he said.

Tarigami also urged government to allow house to discuss issues faced by J&K bank.

“Why don’t you allow J&K bank issues be discussed in this august house,” Kulgam legislator asked, “So that we come to know the conditions of our premier financial institution?”

He also suggested that on the pattern of construction workers, Social security board should be constituted for the benefit of artisans.

“Artisans are in very bad condition and they need immediate attention,” he urged the government.
