A 10-month-old baby girl died after her father allegedly tossed her during an argument with his wife in Bamloora area of Gandarbal district.
Reports said that maternal family of the deceased, identified the baby as Alima Jan.
They alleged that Javid Ahmad Wani was a drug addict and would often demand money from his wife.
“There was an argument between the husband-wife about money during which he threw the baby,” said maternal uncle of Alima.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters Dr Rameez said that a case has been registered in this regard and the accused has been arrested.
“The body has been sent for the investigation to a hospital in Srinagar,” he said.
