A lawmaker on Monday suggested Jammu and Kashmir Government to include and asserted on the implementation of moral education in Scholl education system in state.

Participating in the debate on grants to Education sector, ruling PDP’s nominated MLA, Ms Anjum Fazili, told the house that she was given moral education during her school days.

“There would be a subject, a special focus was given to moral education,” Ms Fazili said, “I would like education department to include it and have a special attention on this subject.”

Ms Fazili believes that inclusion of Moral Education will “avoid suicides among youth”. “When students will be education and made understood the value of life, suicides will be automatically come down.”

Lauding education department for taking “revolutionary steps”, Ms Fazili said that many schools in city have not been renovated post 2014 deluge.

Maintaining that extra-curricular activities help in overall development of students, Ms Fazili demanded two separate indoor stadia for girls in Kashmir and Jammu regions. “We can’t ignore the success of girls; they have been making us proud,” she said.
