Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Friday put on hold SRO 105 and formed a committee to look in to the issue.

Earlier, after Opposition members created ruckus in lower house seeking revocation of SRO 105 which pertains to mining in Jammu and Kashmir, the speaker had adjourned the house for 15 minutes.

“I have directed Government to put the SRO 105 on hold,” Kavinder Gupta told the house.

“And I have decided to form a committee which will present its report in 15 days before the house,” he added. “Let us review the order and see what the committee recommends.”

The members of the committee are NC’s Muhammad Akbar Lone, Mian Altaf, Devender Singh Rana; Congress’ Nawang Rigzin Jora; Independent Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen and MLAs of Government including Sukhnandan Choudhary, Javaid Baig, Rajiv Jasrotia and Bashir Ahmad Dar.

Lone will head the committee.
