A day after a Sikh protester was killed in forces’ action in Jammu while protesting against the removal of posters of Sikh leader Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale, Sikhs from South Kashmir’s Awantipora area donned ‘Bhindrawale T-Shirts’ to register their protest over the event.

The Sikhs from this South Kashmir belt also blocked the Highway and resort to sloganeering against the state police action.

Notably, the protests were triggered in Jammu on Wednesday when police removed the Bhindrawale’s poster. In ensued clashes, one Sikh youth stabbed a cop.

Following, Sikhs in Jammu protested, triggering clashes between government forces and Sikh youth. The government forces’ action left one protester, Jagjit Singh dead.

Early today, Sikhs registered a strong protest in Srinagar against the Jammu incident.
