At least 33 residential houses suffered damage on Thursday evening following a snow avalanche in Khandiyal village of Gurez in north Kashmir.
A police official said that 18 residential houses were completely damaged, and 15 suffered partial damage. However, there were no immediate reports of loss of life. Reports also suggest that many cowsheds and shops were damaged in the incident.
The police officer added that a police team is assessing the damage and further details will be revealed later.
