In a run up to Rajya Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir scheduled in February 7, PDP Saturday got boost when the only ‘free floating electron’ from Ladakh region attended its Legislature Party meeting at Jammu. Bakir Hussain Rizvi who won Zanskar seat with NC’s support created a setback to Congress’s Ghulam Nabi Azad, who was banking on the support of Independents to retain his Rajya Sabha seat.

The meeting termed as “introductory’’ was attended by PDP MPs, MLAs and MLCs met at Jammu official residence of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed last night.

The NC had been counting its strength 16 adding Rizvi until he sides with PDP. His support could boost prospectus of PDP-BJP, which was trying to win all four seats of Rajya Sabha from Jammu and Kashmir.
