The High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has condemned the destruction of property at Saidpora Sopore allegedly by the forces during an encounter in the village. The Bar has also condemned the alleged ill treatment of detainees at the Baramulla Sub Jail.
The Bar Association condemns the treatment meted out to the under trial prisoners, detainees in District Jail Baramulla by its officials, reads a statement.
“The Bar Association also condemns the destruction of movable and immovable property by the forces at Saidapora Sopore. Bar Association extends its support to the families suffered because of the alleged encounter and a team of the Bar Association will be meeting the family members”, reads the statement.
The Bar Association has also condemns the ‘un-parliamentary’ language used by Superintendent of Police Sopore against Atir-bin-Yousuf (teenage militant killed in Sopore encounter) reported by a daily newspaper published on December 21, 2012.
