SRINAGAR: After about 21 hours of consistent chase to locate and tranquilise the bear and her cub, the Wildlife officials finally neutralised the two at around 2 am, officials said.
The wild bear had created fear and school managers were in a fix about whether they should open the schools or close them. The bear had attacked a school guard and left him injured. Now the schools must open normally, officials said.
Regional Wildlife Warden, Rashid Naqash confirmed the capture.
