Following violent clashes in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) on Monday, Kashmiri students resumed their classwork on Tuesday while locals are absconding.
In the violent clashes, varsity and some private property was damaged during clashes between two student groups.
Reports said that a few Kashmiri students were harassed and abused by locals early this morning, however, they fled the scene.
“We are in classes,” a Kashmiri student told Kashmir Life over phone, “locals have assembled at main gate of University creating ruckus.”
A Kashmiri student was beating by a student from Poonch last Saturday evening when locals found that Kashmiris had attended classes in their absence.
Tensions expanded as Kashmiri went to register a case against the brutal attack on their fellow classmate. After intervention by varsity admin and police, the two student groups compromised, however, tensions accelerated early Monday resulting in damages to Varsity and private property.
