Muzaffar-Hussain-Beigh

Setting aside speculations, PDP veteran and parliament member from north Kashmir Muzaffar Hussain Beigh on Monday said the alliance between the BJP and the PDP has not yet broken and that the PDP wants the implementation of agenda of alliance in its true spirit.

According to the KNS, Beigh said that the reports are wrong in which it is being suggested that the coalition between BJP and the PDP has broken in Jammu and Kashmir. “I want to tell you that the alliance has not broken yet. PDP demands the implementation of the agenda of alliance which both the parties had drafted ahead of government formation last year in March,” Beigh said. He addressed PDP workers in Jammu on the 40th days of Mufti Sayeed’s demise.

Beigh, who has been the founding member of the party and a trusted lieutenant of former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said the party is striving to end the present stalemate in the state so that peoples government could be witnessed in the state soon.

The senior PDP leader maintained further that the PDP is working for the implementation of the common minimum program.

After a fractured mandate was thrown by the 2014 polls in the state, it was after two month long hectic deliberations that the PDP and the BJP stitched a common ground and formed a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.

After the demise of the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7 at AIIMS in New Delhi, governor’s rule was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir.

The PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti wanted reassurance from the union government over keeping the agenda of alliance intact besides pithing for the JK-Specific CBMs. Both the parties have held deliberations over ending the deadlock in the state.

Meanwhile, Muzaffar Beigh stated that there are no new conditions laid down by the PDP before the BJP for the formation of new government. According to Beigh, the PDP only wants the assurance from the BJP that the agenda of alliance will be implemented in the state in its actual form.
