Bhartya janta Party has pledged to abrogate Art 370 of the Constitution if voted to power. The party released its election manifesto on Monday and promised the abrogation of Art 370 apart from constructing Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

In its manifesto, BJP promised about some contentious issues.

The party promised that if voted to power it will abrogate the Art 370. Art 370 relates to the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

The 52-page document, released among others by its PM candidate Narendra Modi at the party headquarters, also pledged to provide good governance and inclusive development.

BJPs latest move is sure to create a sharp reaction from the unionist parties of Kashmir especially National Conference and PDP. Congress is also likely to react.

Pertinently, Modi had early this year called for a debate on the Art 370 in the Parliament.

Political commentators are of the opinion that BJP is trying to please the extremist voter bank of the country and promising the abrogation of Art 370 is a part of that.
