The former Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Pulwama is recovering and is out of danger, sources said on Monday.
Dr Ghulam Qadir Sofi was shot and injured by unknown gunman yesterday at his private clinic in Pulwama.
The doctor was busy examining patients at Bhat Complex Pulwama, when the attacker barged in and shot at him.
The doctor, who recently retired from the post of CMO Pulwama, was in 2011, placed under suspension after he was caught on video in a compromising position with a woman at his office.
Sofi was also in the news in 2009 after alleged rape and murder of two young women in Shopian.
