BJP’s Udhampur-Doda candidate Dr Jitendra Singh has declared assets worth more than three crore rupees. The 57 year old doctor specializing in diabetic treatment and a frequent columnist, is also one of the national spokesmen of the BJP.
In his affidavit submitted to the Returning Officer, Dr Singh has declared his movable assets at Rs 88,22,723 and his immovable assets at Rs 2.31 crore. His wife owns moveable assets, mostly bank deposits and shares, worth Rs 65,42,209.
Dr Singh resigned from state government service when he joined BJP. For fiscal 2013-14, he has shown an income of Rs 8.92 lakh and his wife an income of Rs 1.92 lakh.
Dr Singh is the elder brother of NCs Jammu provincial president and business tycoon Devinder Singh Rana. Since 2008, sources close to the family said, brothers have strained relationship.
