SRINAGAR: The body of a minor boy who drowned in the Pohru Nallah at Wadoora in north Kashmir’s Sopore area was recovered on Tuesday after a three-day search operation, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Furqan Rafiq Hajam, officials said.
His body was found in the Nawpora area of Sopore during a joint search operation involving the Sopore Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), MARCOS and the Army, an official said.
The boy had gone missing after drowning in the Pohru Nallah at Wadoora, following which a search and rescue operation was launched and continued for three days, the official said.
The body was taken to a hospital for medico-legal formalities and will be handed over to the family after completion of the required legal procedures, he added.
