SRINAGAR: Late Saturday night, the body of a missing youth from North Kashmir’s Bandipora district was retrieved from Wular Lake.

According to a police official speaking to Kashmir News Service, the body of the deceased was recovered after locals in Warpora village of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district spotted the body late last night and told police.

The deceased, identified as Rounak Hassan aged 19 years son of Ghulam Hassan, a resident of Ward No. 3 of Plan area of Bandipora, who was missing since March 29 morning of this year.

He also mentioned that since the body was semi-decomposed, family members were able to identify the deceased through his clothing.

Officials said the body would be handed over to family for last rites after an autopsy and other medical and legal formalities. (KNS)
