A final year student, Khalid Hussain Mintoo, 23, studying engineering in Rayat & Bahra Institute of Engineering and management Hoshiarpur (Punjab) was found dead under mysterious circumstance. Send with a dream to have his son as Engineer, Raiz rushed to Puinjab to collect the body. Family and friends of the deceased claim a foul play, it may. In Kashmir Er Rashid’s AIP was drawing parallel with APP, leader of AAP Manish Sisodia lashed at former of misleading people. Not only policy, APP intends to contest elections in Jammu and Kashmir without allies. AIP’s Er Rashid has said that APP has taken tough stand on Kashmir. MUMBAI

Anybody with currency bundles stashed under the mattress may need to check them. The Reserve Bank of India has said that banknotes issued before 2005 will be completely phased out after March 31 and replaced with new ones, in a move that could counter black money and help weed out fake currency circulating through the system. Starting April 1, “the public will be required to approach banks for exchanging these notes,” the central bank said in a release on Tuesday.  Banks are required to exchange the notes for their customers as well as for non-customers. From July 1 onward, however, things could get more interesting at bank counters. “To exchange more than 10 pieces of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, non-customers will have to furnish proof of identity and residence to the bank branch in which she/he wants to exchange the notes,” RBI said. As of March 2012, as many as 5 lakh fake notes had been detected in the banking system, a 31% jump from the year before.

HARYANA

Tawheed-Amin-MallaHe made the right decision, when freshly appointed assistant professor, Tawheed Amin Malla, 25 came back home after he was threatened by some unidentified men in Haryana.  Malla, who was selected as assistant professor at National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship Management (NIFTEM) Sonipat, Haryana quit his job after some unidentified men threatened him with dire consequences if he does not leave the campus. Interestingly Malla was the lone Kashmiri face on the campus. But with his life in peril he preferred to pack his bags and return.

SRINAGAR

When Srinagar police succeeded in tracing parent of a two year old girl, it was a reunion with nostalgia. Exactly what happened is that in Srinagar, locals of Zadibal approached the police station with a girl child who could barely speak on Dec 21, 2013.Police took the pains and facilitated the reunion of a child with her family. Till parents were traced, the child was handed over in the custody of an orphanage run by Afiqa Ali with the assistance of an NGO AASH.
