The new record is that of becoming a marriage manager for another of its former bosses. Reports suggest that Jamia University VC Prof Talat Ahmad’s son’s marriage to Kashmiri girl sent many a white collars rushing to manage the guests, so many within the premises. It even opened the gates of its huge garage to facilitate their travel. The marriage took place in VCs lodge as faculty converted into clapping crowd for a noisy band. This is being done despite the fact that Talat preferred Jamia over KU. University says it is charging for the facilities. That means it has evolved yet another super-speciality to the campus!

JAMMU

asaramIt has been almost a year after Asa Ram Babu is in jail and the property he owns is in dispute. Now the state government has taken a call on 283 kanals of prime land that had been allotted to his Shree Yog Vedhant Sewa Samiti in Jammu. JAMMU

Like an art film, it had interesting twists and abrupt changeover. On August 4 evening, Dr Karan Singh, Kashmir’s only Sadr-e-Reyasat had thrown a party at Hari Niwas, the palace he could not sell for want of buyers, at one point of time. He wanted to celebrate his son Vikramaditya Singh’s fiftieth birthday. Many people from PDP, NC and other parties were invited. NC leaders attended in good numbers and PDP was completely absent. In the morning came the shock that Singh Jr is joining the PDP and not the NC. For many weeks, BJP was chasing the man but somehow PDP got him. While Singh believe it will get them part of the power cake, PDP sees it from the angle of having somebody from the other side. He joined the party on August 8.
