A Budgam court Friday extended the judicial remand of Masarat Alam Bhat, senior Muslim League leader, who has been sent to central jail Srinagar, by nine days.

On October 26, the same court had sent Bhat to central jail on seven day’s judicial remand. Muslim League general secretary Abdul Ahad Parra told a local KNS, that Bhat was produced before the court of additional session’s judge Budgam in a cases registered against him under FIR number 15/2010 under section 153, 120 (B), 113 UL, lodged by police station Humhama.

Expressing serious concern over what he called a deliberate attempt on part of the government to prolong detention of Bhat, Muslim League general secretary said that the government is not in a position to face his party colleague politically.
