Speaker Legislative Assembly Mr Kavinder Gupta and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri took stock of the preparations for the upcoming Budget Session here on Tuesday. They visited various sections of the Legislature Complex for first hand appraisal of the preparations being made for the smooth conduct of the session.
They impressed upon the officers of the Assembly to ensure all the facilities are provided to the members and the other concerned including the media-persons for the smooth conduct and coverage of the session beginning 2 January 2017.
The Speaker and the Parliamentary Affairs Minister also called for expediting the renovation of the legislature complex so that everything is in place before the commencement of the session.
On the occasion, Veeri said the Government is committed to provide adequate facilities to the legislators, the officers and the media. He further informed that each legislator would be provided a laptop before the start of the session.
The Officers assured the Minister that all the facilities would be provided to the members and the media during the session.
Later the Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs also inspected the Council complex and took stock of arrangements for the Budget session.
They asked the officers to ensure all facilities for the members of the upper house and carry out necessary works before the start of the session.
Secretary Legislative Assembly Mohammad Ramzan, Secretary Legislative Council Abdul Majeed Bhat and Director Estates were present on the occasion.
