Intense clashes erupted in North Kashmir’s volatile Palhallan town when forces used “pellets and rubber bullets”.
Locals from the area said that pro-freedom protests started around 11 in the morning.
“But on Monday evening, police entered inside the village up to Raipora near Astaan Sharief,” locals said, “seeing forces inside the village triggered panic which eventually led to intense clashes.”
The locals alleged that the forces used rubber bullets as well.
“Scores were injured due to pellet,” locals said.
The locals added that three of the injured were rushed to Pattan Hospital and one was referred to JVC Srinagar.
“One lady was hit by rubber bullet in her foot and an oldie, Gh Rasool Ganaie (60), was hit in his hand,” they said, “both were admitted in Pattan hospital but a youth was hit by pellets in an eye who was rushed to JVC.” “He may lose his eye sight.”
