In the continued clashes between youth and police, reports of various people getting injured are pouring in.

A senior police officer said that SMHS has 17 persons admitted right now.

“Five persons have bullet injuries and in one case – Zubair, a resident of Kulgam, the person has a serious injury,” the officer said. “All others were injured either by tear smoke shells or pellets.” The officer said most of the bullet injuries are in limbs.

The injured included a photojournalist whose identity could not be ascertained.

Sources identified one youth namely Farooq Ahmad Rather (26), s/o Gh Nabi was hit by pellets in his chest. He is resident of Frestbal Pampore.

From Burhan’s home town Tral, one Zahid Ahmad Bhat, s/o Ab Rashid, was hit by pellets in his left eye. He is 20.

Manzoor Ahmad Wani, s/o Ab Rashid, R/O Awantipora was hit by pellets in his head and one Aquib Parray Hassan (25) was hit by a shell in his head. He is resident of Tahab Pulwama.

As Parray was being driven to hospital in Srinagar, locals alleged that cops got two of his attending youth down the ambulance in Pampore and used them as shield against stone pelters near Pampore.

Intense stone pelting and tear gas shelling was going on in the area when the duo youth was stopped. “The police got them down and let the ambulance move towards Srinagar,” sources said, “the duo was used as shield by forces against stone pelting.”

When contacted a top from Pampore town, however, denied the allegation. “I am not aware,” he said, “and this can’t happen at all.”
