Two days before it met here under Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, state cabinet is again meeting at civil secretariat. CM Mufti is in chair.

The cabinet had met on Wednesday after three months. It had remained inconclusive over transfers in state administration.

If sources are to be believed, CM Mufti had asked his council of ministers to rethink and discuss and have more options about transfers in civil and police administration. “Wednesday’s meet was normal, not like how it was reported; however, there was no consensus amongst coalition partners over transfers in the administration,” the sources revealed.

Top level sources said that today’s meet is important and it shall revamp the civil and police establishment in state.

They added that the Cabinet shall also be discussing important power reforms.

“The meeting is expected to discuss power reforms in J&K; the issue is being thoroughly discussed as it shall work out modalities on state’s relation with Northern power grid,” they said. “It is expected to take care of energy demand and supply in J&K.”
