“Kashmir is in a state of grief and mourning. We as Muslims should keep the worst situation of our fellow brothers and sisters whose lives have been ruined by floods in mind and Celebrate eid with utmost austerity,” this was stated by the chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik while distributing relief material among the victims of recent flood at Barbarshah and PC Depot Qamarwari Saturday. Rice, sugar, blankets, clothes, spices, ceareals and medicine was distributed among the affected.

On the occasion Malik said that Kashmir is in a state of mourning and we cannot show Complacency towards our flood affected brethren.. “Kashmir is facing an unprecedented catastrophe and needs unprecedented response to counter the devastation caused by recent floods. We have lost hundreds of lives and our economic back bone has been broken. In this hour of national grief and sorrow we all as one nation should celebrate Eid with utmost austerity and simplicity, said Malik.

While talking to the affected people, Malik said that recent flood besides taking hundreds of lives; ruing thousands of residential houses has also broken the back bone of our economy as all our business establishments have been razed to ground. He said that thousands of residential houses, goods worth billions of dollars and many lives have been lost and that is why  it is our religious, moral, human and national duty to show magnanimity, austerity, seriousness and solidity and celebrate eid with austerity.
