Shutters came down and people came on roads in in Kakapora, a south Kashmir town in district pulwama, soon after the Hushroo encounter ended on the death of a militant.
The people of Kakapora claimed that the deceased was not ‘a foreign militant’ as claimed by police but a resident of the town and identified him as Showkat Ahmad lone son of Muhammad Shaban Lone.
Earlier, in the day police claimed that Army and SOG personnel killed a foreign militant in Hushroo during a gunfight which lasted for twelve hours.
The people from Kakepora, Thursday afternoon came on roads and claimed that the deceased was not a ‘foreign militant’ but a resident of village Lalehaar, near Kakapora.
The people even travelled to Chadoora to claim the body.
