SRINAGAR: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the long-awaited Civil Services Final Result 2023 for the UPSC 2022 Exam on its official website on Tuesday.

Six residents from Jammu and Kashmir, who were already in their probation period of Jammu Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS), have achieved a thrilling milestone by qualifying for the esteemed UPSC Civil Services examination. The successful candidates include Parsenjit Kour, who secured an impressive Rank 11, Nitin Singh at Rank 32, Manan Bhat with a commendable Rank 231, Manil Bejotra with Rank 314, Irfan Choudhary obtaining Rank 476, and Nivranshu Hans achieving Rank 811.

Additionally, other candidates from Jammu and Kashmir who have made their mark in the UPSC Civil Services examination so far are Waseem Bhat from Dooru Anantnag district, securing 7th rank, and Naved Ahsan Bhat at Rank 82.

Waseem has a B.Tech in civil engineering from the National Institute of Technology Srinagar. In 2021, Bhat had secured the 225th overall rank in the UPSC Civil Services exam.

The UPSC Final Result 2022 has recommended a total of 933 candidates for appointment to prestigious positions in the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’. Among the recommended candidates, 345 belong to the general category, 99 to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 263 to Other Backward Classes (OBC), 154 to Scheduled Castes (SC), and 72 to Scheduled Tribes (ST). Additionally, a consolidated reserve list comprises 178 candidates.

The UPSC preliminary exam was held on June 5, 2022, and the results were released in June 2022. The main examination was conducted from September 16 to September 25, and the results were declared on December 6, followed by viva-voce on May 18, 2023.

Among the achievers, Ishita Kishore has emerged as the overall topper with an All India Rank (AIR) 1. Remarkably, the top three spots have been secured by women candidates, showcasing their exceptional achievements.
