CRPF personnel opened fire in Zoonimar area of the city resulting in the injury of one youth seriously. The injured has been identified as Altaf Ahmad Wani, a resident of Saidapora. Altaf 34, was rushed to SKIMS Soura.

The sources in SKIMS confirmed Kashmir Life that Altaf has a bullet injury in his chest. Doctors said they operating upon him but “he will not make it”. They revived him twice, so far.

The locals of the Zoonimar area said that youth were playing cricket on the road when a CRPF party in three vehicles came rushing. Altaf was walking on the roadside and he got two bullets, they added.

A top police official told Kashmir Life that the CRPF party belonging to 73rd battalion was rushing towards SKMS to donate blood for their colleagues who were injured in the Bemina attack in the morning. He added that some youth in the Saidapora area pelted stones on the party who fired some bullets. The officer added that police is collecting the details.

The locals allege that three people were injured in the Zoonimar firing incident. Medical sources told Kashmir Life that two of them are in SKIMS, right now. The second one whose name was not immediately known has received a bullet in his belly. He is a Zoonimar resident.
