Clashes erupted in Bandipora and Ganderbal areas while as people took to streets in the south town of Shopian demanding mortal remains of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru and Mohammad Maqbool Bhat.

Both, Bhat and Guru were hanged and buried in Tihar jail Delhi in 1984 and 2013, respectively.

Entire Kashmir valley is witnessing complete shutdown and strict restrictions since Sunday on the eve of first and 30th death anniversaries of Guru and Bhat.

Three day shutdown call has been given by separatist leaders most of them have been arrested or put under house detention from last three days.

Reports said that clashes erupted in Papchan area of Bandipora town between the men in uniform and the protesters as the later tried to protest.

In Ganderbal, people held protests in the town. Reports of protests and clashes have also reached from Hajin.

In Shopian, people assembled in the Gole Chowk of the town and raised slogans against India. People marched in the town holding photographs of Afzal Guru and later dispersed peacefully.

In Sello, Sopore people held demonstrations raising anti-India slogans. Local sources told Kashmir Life that people got provoked by the red flags unfurled by Army men around their camp.
