SRINAGAR

Castigating PDP led State Government for allowing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) march in Jammu in which the right wing Hindu nationalist brandished swords, guns and other weapons, State Congress President Ghulam Ahmed Mir Saturday alleged that on the directions of Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed the civil and police administration neither acted against the RSS activists nor commented on the issue.

The State Congress president told CNS that Mufti has kept his promise that it had made to RSS people that he will give them free hand in Jammu and Kashmir after assuming power in the State. “Mufti is busy in appeasing RSS bosses. He has opened doors for RSS activists in Jammu and soon he will follow the suit in Kashmir too. It is irony that not a single official was ready to comment on the RSS march in Jammu. The fact is that Mufti had directed them to maintain silence on the issue. It is strange that RSS activists carrying guns and swords and raising provocative slogans were let go and no action was initiated against them,” Mir said.

Pertinently, members of the RSS, whose activities saw a spurt in the recent past in the Jammu and Ladakh region, allegedly brandished 12-bore guns and swords during the procession in Jammu city on Thursday. “Soon people in Kashmir will realize what Mufti was up to. Mufti has managed to give RSS what that organization failed to achieve from 65 years in Jammu and Kashmir. The way Mufti is patronizing the RSS will have serious implications in coming future,” Mir said adding both PDP and RSS are on the same page when it comes to Kashmir.
