The directive was issued through a circular by the Office of the Joint Director, North, instructing all Chief Education Officers, Zonal Education Officers, heads of institutions and other subordinate offices to place properly labelled complaint boxes at prominent and easily accessible locations.

According to the circular, the boxes must be opened at regular intervals by the head of the concerned office or institution, or an authorised officer, to facilitate the timely examination and disposal of grievances. Officials have also been directed to maintain records of complaints received and the action taken on them.

The Chief Education Officers of Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara have been asked to submit consolidated compliance reports after the seven-day deadline, detailing the installation of complaint boxes in all schools and offices under their respective jurisdictions.

The measure is intended to provide students, staff and members of the public with a direct channel to submit grievances within the school education system across North Kashmir.
